ALTER End User License Agreement

Your agreement with Jiss Tech LLC

This End User License Agreement (“Agreement” or “EULA”) is between you and Jiss Tech LLC, the operator of ALTER. It governs your use of the ALTER app and service. By affirmatively agreeing, you accept these terms. If you do not agree, do not create an account or use the service. Questions, complaints, and claims can be sent to help@jiss.tech.

The Privacy Policy explains our handling of personal information. Acknowledging that policy is separate from agreeing to this EULA and does not waive your privacy rights or substitute for consent where the law requires it.

Who may use ALTER

You must be at least 13 years old and legally permitted to use ALTER where you live. Registration includes a 13-or-older self-declaration; it does not verify age. If you are a minor and your local law requires a parent or guardian’s permission to enter this Agreement, you must have that permission. A parent or guardian giving permission must review these terms and accept responsibility to the extent required by applicable law.

Sign in using a Google account you are authorized to use, provide accurate required information, and keep control of your Google account and device. Do not impersonate another person, claim verification you have not received, share account access for abuse, or evade an account restriction. ALTER does not issue a separate password or PIN.

License to use the app

While you comply with this Agreement, Jiss Tech LLC grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use ALTER on devices you own or control for its intended social features. We retain rights to the app, branding, and software that are not expressly granted. Open-source components remain subject to their own applicable licenses.

Do not sell or redistribute the app, remove ownership notices, bypass security or access controls, extract other users’ private information, disrupt the service, or use automated access to overload or abuse it. Restrictions on modification or reverse engineering apply only to the extent permitted by law and do not remove rights granted by an applicable open-source license.

Your content and the permission you give us

You keep the rights you hold in your posts, comments, profile text, uploaded profile images, and messages. You are responsible for having the rights and permissions needed to submit them and for respecting other people’s privacy and intellectual property.

You grant Jiss Tech LLC a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide permission to host, store, reproduce, technically format, transmit, and display your content only as needed to operate and provide ALTER’s features, maintain reliability and safety, and fulfill legal obligations. We may allow service providers to perform these activities for us. This permission allows public posts to be displayed publicly and messages to be delivered to their intended participants; it does not authorize using private messages in advertising.

This permission ends when the content is deleted from our active systems, except to the extent needed to complete deletion, handle a legally required retention obligation, or maintain copies described in the Privacy Policy while their deletion process completes. It does not give us ownership of your content or a general right to sell it. Other users’ independent copies remain outside our control.

GIFs offered through the KLIPY picker remain subject to the rights of their creators and providers. Choosing a GIF does not transfer ownership or grant rights beyond the permitted use through the service. Keep the provider attribution, respect content rights and community rules, and do not use a GIF to harass or exploit others. GIF availability may change or be withdrawn. ALTER Plus subscriptions

An administrator may give your account complimentary Plus access for the period shown in the app or without a scheduled expiry. A gift does not create a store subscription, charge you, or renew as a paid subscription. Complimentary access may expire or be revoked by an administrator. It is managed separately from any paid subscription you already have; receiving or losing a gift does not cancel store billing or remove independently valid paid access.

ALTER provides its core social features without a subscription. Where available, ALTER Plus is an optional subscription for the additional profile styles, private-profile controls, and organizer features described on the purchase screen. Active membership is displayed publicly with a Plus badge, which does not indicate account verification. Available profile themes, avatar styles, and curated username and post-text colors apply to your account wherever supported, including existing posts. Plus does not grant verification, moderation privileges, or preferential placement of your posts. Purchases by minors require any parent or guardian permission and store approval required where they live.

The purchase screen and app store confirmation show the billing period, localized price, and applicable offer terms before you agree to pay. Subscriptions renew automatically and the store charges the account used to purchase unless canceled under the store terms. We do not promise a trial or introductory offer unless one is expressly shown. You can manage or cancel through your app store subscriptions page; cancellation generally stops future renewal and access continues until the end of the paid period unless a refund, revocation, or applicable store rule changes that.

Your subscription access is associated with your ALTER account. Sign in to that same ALTER account on another supported device and use Restore purchases when needed with the store account that made the purchase. Availability of purchasing and restoration depends on the platform and store. Uninstalling, signing out, deleting your ALTER account, or losing access to it does not automatically cancel store billing. Cancel through the store before account deletion to avoid future charges.

After Plus expires, core features remain available. An already private profile stays private. You may continue approving or declining requests, removing followers, or making your profile public without a subscription. Active Plus is required to enable private mode again after returning to public. You can still read or remove your existing library data, open saved feeds and collections, and recover saved drafts. Creating or changing premium library content requires active Plus. If membership expires or current access cannot be verified, fresh profile and post responses omit the Plus badge and return premium themes, avatars, and colors to the default appearance without changing post text. Refund requests are handled under the applicable store process and mandatory consumer law; contact help@jiss.tech for assistance. Nothing here excludes a refund or other remedy required by law.

Community rules

Ordinary swearing is allowed. Slurs targeting people based on identity or disability are prohibited in posts and replies, including attempts to evade screening through altered spelling. ALTER uses local word checks and Profanity.dev screening before publication, as described in the Privacy Policy. Automated decisions can be wrong; you can revise a rejected submission or contact help@jiss.tech to request review.

You may express difficult feelings, disagree, and discuss personal experiences. You may not threaten, stalk, bully, harass, discriminate against, or direct hate or violence at people or protected groups. Do not publish another person’s private contact details, credentials, intimate information, or other identifying information without permission.

Child sexual abuse material and child sexual exploitation are strictly prohibited, including sexualization of minors, grooming, solicitation, trafficking, and content that facilitates or promotes such conduct. Pornography, sexual solicitation, non-consensual intimate content, and sexual harassment are prohibited. Do not encourage self-harm, suicide, or dangerous violence; sharing feelings or seeking support is different from encouraging harm.

Do not use ALTER for fraud, scams, malware, credential theft, spam, unlawful transactions, infringement of intellectual property, or instructions or coordination intended to facilitate serious harm. Do not manipulate reports, evade blocks, or return under another account to continue prohibited conduct. These rules apply to usernames, profiles, posts, comments, messages, and other use of the service.

Reporting, blocking, and enforcement

Use the available in-app reporting controls to report content, and use blocking controls to restrict unwanted interactions. Contact help@jiss.tech to report a person or message where no report control is available, or about abuse, child safety, intellectual-property concerns, or a moderation decision. Give enough information to locate the issue, but do not forward illegal imagery or other unnecessary sensitive material.

We may investigate reports, remove or restrict content, limit features, or suspend or terminate access when needed to address violations, legal obligations, or safety and security risks. Enforcement can depend on the severity and context of the conduct. You may contact help@jiss.tech to ask us to review an action. These terms do not promise continuous monitoring or an immediate response.

Blocking and reporting reduce unwanted interactions but cannot guarantee that every harmful item will be prevented or that copies already made will disappear. Do not rely on ALTER’s reporting process for an emergency.

Privacy, conversations, and personal safety

Public-profile posts and comments and basic profile information are public. Private profiles restrict posts, comments, and follower lists to the owner and approved followers within ALTER. Following-list visibility is a separate free setting: public lists are visible to others, and private lists are visible only to their owner, subject to blocking controls. Existing followers remain approved when you switch to private. Private status survives subscription expiry; changing back to public is your choice. These controls do not recall copies or prevent recipients from sharing content. Direct messages have separate participant access controls. Restricted content and messages are not end-to-end encrypted; the service operator can process them as described in the Privacy Policy. A persona does not guarantee anonymity.

Device push alerts are optional and depend on your permission, device settings, network connection, and the delivery provider. Delivery may be delayed, duplicated, or unavailable. Generic alerts already sent to a provider or displayed on a device may remain after the underlying activity changes or you sign out. The Privacy Policy explains the delivery identifiers, provider processing, and available controls.

ALTER is a social space, not medical care, counseling, a crisis line, or an emergency service. Other users’ opinions are not professional advice. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services or an appropriate crisis service. Do not disclose sensitive information on the assumption that a conversation has clinical confidentiality.

Leaving ALTER and account restrictions

You may stop using ALTER at any time. To delete your account, use Delete account in Settings and confirm through the same Google account, or request help at help@jiss.tech. Account deletion removes the active account and associated data as described in the Privacy Policy, including conversations involving the account. Signing out, uninstalling, or disconnecting Google alone does not delete your ALTER account.

If access is suspended or terminated, your license to use the restricted service ends. We may act without advance notice when necessary to protect users or the service, meet legal obligations, or address serious violations. You can still contact us about privacy rights, deletion, or review of the decision. Terms needed to resolve existing claims, respect intellectual-property rights, and complete deletion continue where applicable.

Availability, warranties, and responsibility

We work to provide a useful service, but features may change and interruptions or errors can occur. We do not promise uninterrupted access, that all user content is accurate or safe, or that ALTER will meet a particular personal or professional need. Keep your own copy of anything important to you.

To the extent allowed by applicable law, the service is provided as available, without additional promises of merchantability, suitability for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. This does not exclude any warranty, remedy, liability, or consumer right that the law does not allow us to exclude. Nothing in this Agreement limits responsibility for fraud, intentional misconduct, or other liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Third-party services, including Google sign-in and an app store, are subject to their own terms. You must comply with applicable third-party agreements, including your device and network service terms. We do not control those services or other users’ independent conduct.

Additional terms for Apple downloads

For an Apple download, this Agreement is with Jiss Tech LLC, not Apple. Jiss Tech LLC is responsible for ALTER, its content, support, applicable warranties, and product, regulatory, consumer, and privacy claims. Apple has no maintenance or support duty. Jiss Tech LLC handles investigation, defense, settlement, and discharge of third-party intellectual-property claims concerning ALTER.

Your Apple license covers Apple-branded devices you own or control under Apple’s Usage Rules, including permitted Family Sharing and volume purchasing. If ALTER fails an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple for a refund of any purchase price. To the extent law permits, Apple has no further warranty responsibility; remaining warranty claims and costs are Jiss Tech LLC’s responsibility.

You confirm you are not in a US-embargoed country or one designated by the US government as supporting terrorism, and are not on a US prohibited or restricted-party list. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries and, when you accept, may enforce this Agreement against you.

Changes and contact

We may revise these terms as ALTER changes. The effective date identifies the version. Material changes will be presented with appropriate notice and renewed agreement where required. Changes do not remove rights that have already arisen or mandatory protections under your local law. If a provision cannot be enforced, the remaining provisions continue to the extent allowed by law.
